New diamond polishing facility

Luminati have invested in a new Diamond polishing facility. The diamond polisher will allow Luminati to achieve an edge finish on their displays that will be as clear as glass. This process uses a diamond cutting tool that is rotated at high speed past the material being polished to remove a small cut and to create a perfect flat surface finish with crystal glass aesthetics.

The typical applications for this process will be:

• Branding blocks
• Picture frames
• Poster frames
• All flat edges for acrylic fabrications or display fixtures.

The finish is superior to the traditional flame polished finished and also allows fabrication to the polished edge that was not possible with a flame polished finish. Flame polishing will not be superseded by this process as there will still be production of more complex profiles that will be suited to the flame process and not the diamond.
